¤ WHAT IS POKÉMON? ¤

1) Pokémon Was Originally Created In Japan, Where It Became One Of The Most Popular Items To Fly Off The Shelves. Pokémon, Short For Pocket Monsters, Were First Created As GameBoy Games Called "Pokémon: Blue", "Pokémon: Red", And "Pokémon: Green". Each Version Was Based Off The First Three Pokémon Chosen In The Beginning Of The Game. Because Of The Huge Success, Creators Decided To Go Further. They Began With Trading Cards, Action Figures, And One Of The Most Popular Television Shows. Pokémon Was Such A Hit It Began Spreading Into Other Countries.

2) In November Of 1998, Pokémon Hit America! "Pokémon: Blue" And "Pokémon: Red" Were First Introduced And Flew Off The Shelves Just As It Had In Japan. Once Again, The Games Were Such A Success, Trading Cards, Action Figures, And The Television Show Hit The Nation. Soon Everyone Knew That This Phenomenon Was Growing Faster Than Anyone Could Imagine. Creators Decided To Create Another Version To Accommodate The Television Show--"Pokémon: Yellow". In This Special Edition, Players Could Follow Along With Ash, The Main Character, And Pikachu, The Idol For Pokémon, Walking The Same Path.

3) The Craze Was Still Growing And The Creators Needed A New Way To Attract More Followers As Well As Keep Their Current Fans. They Decided The Best Way Would Be To Create An All New Saga--New Pokémon, New Episodes, New Trading Cards, And New Everything! Months Later, "Pokémon: Gold" And "Pokémon: Silver" Were Released! The Craze Shot Through The Roof. Fans Everywhere Needed To Get Their Hands On These New Pokémon. The New Pokémon Were Introduced In An All New Television Series Called "Johto Journeys". Movies Were Created And Rare Pokémon Were Introduced. "Pokémon: Crystal" Was Created, Featuring The Newest Pokémon Character. Years Later, The Creators Created Once Again Another Saga Of New Pokémon--"Pokémon: Ruby" And "Pokémon: Sapphire". These Were The First Games Of Their Kind, With Two-On-Two Battling, Incredible Graphics, And Features To Entertain Those Who Were Tired Of Just Battling. Today, This Phenomenon Is Still Roaring. The Newest Television Series Is About To Debut, Featuring These New Pokémon. The Trading Cards Have Already Been Created As Well As Action Figures, Stuffed Animals, And Other Accessories. With The Craze Far From Over, Pokémon Is Sure To Fasinate Us For Years To Come!

¤ FACTS AND TIPS ON POKÉMON ¤

1) There Are 9 Versions Of Pokémon, But Only 8 Can Be Found In The United States. The Versions Are Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, And Sapphire. The Version Not Released In The United States Is Green, But It Is Actually Part Of The Blue Version.

2) In The Beginning, All Trainers Start Off With A Pokémon Depending On The Version They Have. If You Have Blue, Red, Or Green Version, You Have The Choice Of Squirtle, Charmander, Or Bulbasaur. In Yellow Version, You Automatically Get Pikachu, Taking The Role Of The Television Show. In Gold, Silver, And Crystal Version, You Have The Choice Of Totodile, Cyndaquil, Or Chikorita. In Ruby And Sapphire Version, You Have The Choice Of Mudkip, Torchic, Or Treecko.

3) You May Only Carry 6 Pokémon With You At One Time. All Others Are Stored In Your PC Thanks To A Scientist Named Bill. The 6 Pokémon You Carry Are Those You Can Battle With, So Choose Carefully. To Get More Pokémon, You Will Need To Catch Wild Pokémon Located In Various Areas. Once You Have 6 Pokémon, The Caught Pokémon Will Be Sent To Your PC Where You Can Withdraw, Deposit, And Exchange Pokémon.

4) It's Always Best To Choose Pokémon You Like, Not Just Pokémon That Are Strong. The Game Is Not Just Battling, But Raising Your Pokémon Like Your Own Pet. You Will Need To Care For Them Greatly To Advance Into The Game!

5) To Train Your Pokémon And Make Them Stronger, You Must Battle Wild Pokémon And Trainers. You Must Also Care For Your Pokémon, Heal Them Often, And Give Them Items To Increase Their Health. Although There Are Cheating Devices Available, It Is Best Not To Use One. (For More Information On Cheating Devices, See The Below Section)

6) Once You Have Collected All 8 Badges From Each Town's Gym Leader, You May Face The Elite Four. The Elite Four Is The Strongest Pokémon Battling Team. You Battle Each Member Until You Reach The Champion. If You Can Defeat The Champion, You Are Then Considered A Pokémon Master!

7) Collect 16 Badges, 8 From Each Island, To Become The Greatest Champion And Face Red, The Strongest Pokémon Master In All The Land. You Can Only Collect All 16 Badges If You Are Playing Gold, Silver, Or Crystal Version. You Will See That The Character Red Is Actually Ash Ketchum, The Main Character From The Original Series! The Character Blue, The Gymleader At The Final Gym On Kanto Island, Is Actually Gary, Ash's Rival!

8) In Each Game There Are Rare Pokémon That Can Only Be Caught Once Some Point Further Into The Game. Before You Battle These Pokémon, It Is Best To Save Incase You Make The Pokémon Faint, Losing The Chance To Capture It Forever! The Rare Pokémon For Blue, Red, Green, And Yellow Version Is Mewtwo. Mewtwo Can Be Found At Level 70. The Rare Pokémon For Gold, Silver, And Crystal Are Lugia And Ho-Oh. In Gold Version, Lugia Can Be Found At Level 70 And Ho-Oh At Level 40. In Silver Version, Lugia Can Be Found At Level 40 And Ho-Oh At Level 70. The Rare Pokémon For Ruby And Sapphire Version Are Groudon, Kyrogue, And Rayquaza. In Ruby Version, Groudon Can Be Found At Level 40 And Rayquaza At Level 70. In Sapphire Version, Kyrogue Can Be Found At Level 40 And Rayquaza At Level 70.

9 Apart From The Rare Pokémon, There Are Pokémon That Are Unique To Each Saga. In Blue, Red, Green, And Yellow Version, The Unique Pokémon Is Mew. Mew Cannot Be Be Found In The Game. You Must Get Mew At An Official Nintendo Event. In Gold, Silver, And Crystal Version, The Unique Pokémon Is Celebi. Celebi Can Be Found In Crystal Version. In Ruby And Sapphire Version, The Unique Pokémon Are Latios, Latias, And Jirachi. Latios Can Be Found In Ruby Version. Latias Can Be Found In Sapphire Version. It Is Unknown How To Capture Jirachi At This Time.

10) It Is A Great Advantage In Battle If You Memorize The Pokémon Strength And Weakness Chart. Some Pokémon Are Greatly Affected By Some Attacks, While Others Are Not Affected At All, And That Can Cost You The Battle!

° Reasons Not To Use A Cheating Device °

1) It's Pretty Obvious That If You Cheat, You're Lazy! The Fun Of The Game Is To Progress In The Game! How Can You Do That When You Have Nowhere To Progress?

2) The Point Of The Game Is To Get Your Pokémon To High Levels And Fight And Win Against Your Opponent, Especially The Elite Four And Red. If You Do This By Cheating, You Just Destroyed The Purpose Of Playing... Why Did You Just Spend $30 For Nothing, Hmm?

3) It Can Erase Your Entire Game, And We're Not Joking! If You Don't Believe Us, Ask Some Friends! How Would You Like All That Hard Work Deleted?

4) If You're Lucky, Your Game Won't Be Erased... Just Yet, But It Will Certainly Screw Up Your Game! Everything Goes Wacko, Your PC Is All Messed Up, Your Pokémon Are Coo-Coo, And You Can't Trade Pokémon With Someone Else.
